Lun Ran


1. Overview

Lun Ran, male, born in June 1977, from Lingyuan, Liaoning Province. Ph.D. of management, professor of Management Science and Engineering, School of Management and Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology, doctoral supervisor. Selected by the Ministry of Education's "New Century Excellent Talents Support Program.” He is currently the deputy director of the Beijing Philosophy and Social Science Research Base "Beijing Economic and Social Sustainable Development Research Base,” the chairman of the Beijing Systems Engineering Society, and the director of the Chinese Systems Engineering Society. He has served as the head of the Humanities and Social Sciences Department of the Institute of Science and Technology of Beijing Institute of Technology, the dean of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, the secretary-general of the Beijing Institute of Technology Smart Talent Warehouse, and the executive deputy secretary-general of the National E-Government Expert Committee, etc. He once served as the part-time director of the Department of Management Sciences, National Natural Science Foundation of China. Visiting Scholar at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, University of California, Berkeley.

Lun Ran also is an evaluation expert on national and provincial projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Fund of China, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, etc. He is the authoring group expert of the guide of the major projects of the key R&D project of the 14th Five-Year Plan —— “Science and Technology Support for Food Manufacturing and Agricultural Products Logistics.” He is an expert at the Modern Supply Chain Research Institute of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, co-leader of “Aviation Digital Security” of Beijing Philosophy and Social Sciences Aviation Digital Economy Research Base, member of the Academic Committee of Supply Chain Management which is the journal of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, associate editor-in-chief of Asia-Pacific Journal of Operational Research (SCI journal).

Immediate Concerns: Data-driven operation management model and algorithm.

(2) Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Immediate Concerns: Supply chain resilience, Supply chain risk management, Digital supply chain, Omnichannel supply chain.

(3) Service Operations Management

Immediate Concerns: Service operation of new energy vehicles, Smart city operation, Digital service operation.

(4) Optimization under Uncertainty

Immediate Concerns: Data-driven robust optimization.
