On theafternoon of September 3,2024, the opening ceremony and orientation of 2024 graduate students of Beijing Institute of Technology School of Management was held in the Performing Arts Hall of the Comprehensive Teaching Building of Liangxiang Campus. Tang Baojun, Dean of the School of Management, Yan Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Liu Hao, Guan Hong, Zhang Xiang, Che Huiquan attended the ceremony with more than 200 freshmen of 2024 graduate students. The ceremony was presided over by Vice Dean Zhang Xiang.
Tang Baojun welcomed all the freshmen and delivered a speech. She introduced the faculty, discipline construction, scientific research achievements and international influence of the School of Management, and raised three hopes for all freshmen: first, aim high, aspire to serve the country and conduct research around the national strategy; second, deep and innovative research; third, solid academic ethics. She told all freshmen to jump out of their comfort zone, have the courage to brave the wind and waves, and have the ability to ride the wind and waves.
As a representative of the new students, Zhai Jianqiao made a speech with the theme of "Inheriting the roots of Yanan, strengthening the soul of military industry, and striving to be a leader". He hoped to make progress and pursue excellence under the guidance of the school motto, and determined to become a young man of the new era who "has ideals, dare to bear responsibility, can bear hardships and is willing to struggle".
Li Guo spoke as the representative of the teachers. He earnestly shared four experiences: first, stay true to the original intention, cherish dreams, dare to take responsibility, maintain the original intention is the core of the academic journey; second, enhance confidence, pursue excellence, dare to insist innovation, confidence is the cornerstone of scientific research; third, firm determination, overcome difficulties, and pursue academic dreams, success often requires long-term efforts and continuous trial and error; fourth, establish perseverance, continuous progress, adhere to all-round development, perseverance is the key to long-term success.
Yan Zhijun summed up the opening ceremony. He first emphasized the concept of innovation and reform, hoping that the students of the school to do self-reform, self-innovation, self-improvement, adhere to the implementation of the partys policy and line. Then, he put forward three requirements: first, firm ideals and beliefs, enhance personal spiritual temperament, to serve the country and serve the society; second, focus on the main responsibility and main business, strengthen academic taste, and add weight to the research work; third, enhance the comprehensive ability, and comprehensively develop the communication and expression skills.
