JARUS elects Liu Hao, a teacher at the School of Management and Economics of Beijing Institute of Technology, as the Secretary-general

On October 11,2021, nominated by the Office of China National Air Management Commission, the Ecole National School of Civil Aviation (ENAC) and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking of Unmanned Systems (JARUS) elected Professor Liu Hao, deputy director of the Research Center of China National Air Traffic Control Regulations and Standards, as the new Secretary General, starting from October 12,2021.At the same time, Liu Hao announced his resignation as vice chairman of the JARUS.


Liu Hao is an expert in aerospace law, policy and standards. He teaches in the International Organization Innovation Institute of the School of Management and Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology.  He has rich professional experience in unmanned aviation (unmanned aircraft / unmanned aircraft system / unmanned aircraft system / remote control system / unmanned aerial vehicle), suborbital flight, near space operation and commercial space field. In order to promote innovation and development and encourage new space activities, Liu Hao actively participated in the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking of Unmanned Systems (JARUS), the International Civil Aviation Organization Remote Control Aircraft System Expert Group (ICAORPASP), the International Civil Aviation Organization / the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (ICAO / UNOOSSA) Space Research Group, and the International Association for the Promotion of Space Security (IAASS).


Founded in 2007, JARUS consists of aviation administration officials (including officers, police officers) and national recommended experts. It cooperates with other international organizations including the International Civil Aviation Organization to study unmanned aviation regulatory rules and approval requirements, promote unified coordination of global regulatory rules, ensure and improve the safety and efficiency of unmanned aviation, and prevent regulators and international organizations from doing repeated work. JARUS experts are from 63 countries and 2 international regional organizations (European Aviation Safety Organization EASA and European Navigation Safety Organization EuroControl).
