April 13, the first International Students Cultural Festival of the School of Management and Economics, advocated by Professor Wei Yiming, smoothly openned and successfully concluded. Deputy Dean Professor Tang Baojun in charge of graduate education, Peng Mingxue, vice secretary of student work, Peng Shu, director of BIT International Exchange Office and teacher Zheng Ye from the International Students Center were invited to attend the opening ceremony. Nearly 100 foreign students from over 20 countries as well as Chinese teachers and students representatives attended the event. Professor Wang Huaiyu, director of the Graduate Education Center, hosted the opening ceremony.
Deputy Dean Tang Baojun congratulated the smooth opening of the first cultural festival and hoped that this event could build a platform for students from different countries and different cultural backgrounds, build a bridge of friendship between foreign students and Chinese students, provide a place for academic exchange, and also promote the cultral exchange; at the same time he wished the foreign students would spread to the world knowledge, understanding of traditional Chinese culture and friendship after they returned to their mother countries. Deputy Secretary Peng Mingxue, Director Peng Shu and Mr. Zheng Ye also sent their own blessings, hoping this event could strengthen the exchanges between international students and friendship between foreign students and Chinese students.
