On the morning of October 10, 2017, Dr. Ma Ting from the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was invited to visit and gave an academic report entitled "The Basis of GIS and Spatial Analysis." The report was hosted by Professor Yu Biying. A number of teachers and students of the CEEP participated in this report.
Dr. Ma Ting is an associate researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Resources and Environmental Information Systems, Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His main research interests and directions include geostatistical and spatial analysis, urbanization and urban system dynamics, and changes in the environmental system caused by human activities. He has published more than 20 SCI papers in international academic journals.
In today's report, Dr. Martin mainly introduced the basic ideas of spatial analysis, the basis of statistics, the main research methods and applications in GIS, and explained the relevant situations of China's geographic information system and data platform.
