On the afternoon of May 11, 2018, Professor Chen Chen from Cardiff University in the UK was invited by Professor Cui Lirong to visit the School of Management and Economics of Beijing Institute of Technology and gave an academic report titled "Interpreting market inefficiency vs irrationality using news sentiment and information transfer entropy". More than 20 teachers and students from the college attended the academic report.
Dr. Jing Chen is a professor of mathematics at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. Her research interests include the application of probability, statistics, and financial investment management. She received a bachelor's degree in computer science from Lanzhou Jiaotong University in 2001, a master's degree in finance and investment from Aberdeen University in 2007, and a Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen in 2011. Her research results are published in such internationally renowned journals as Quantitative Finance, The Journal of European Finance, Journal of Forecasting, European Journal of Finance, and Journal of Economics Behavior and Organization.
