On the morning of November 20, 2018, the School of Management and Economics held a guest professor appointment ceremony in the 133 lecture hall of the main building, and appointed a professor of economics at the Vanderbilt University, and a well-known econometrician, Li Wei, as a visiting professor at Beijing Institute of Technology, honorary Director of the Center for Econometric Methods and Data Analysis at the School of Management and Economics. The appointment ceremony was presided over by Professor Wang Zhaohua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Management and Economics. Prof. Wei Yiming, Dean of the School of Management and Economics, Professor Tang Yijun, Associate Dean, Professor Hu Ruifa, Professor Liao Hua, Professor Wang Ke and Associate Professor Zhang Lingxiang attended the appointment ceremony.
On behalf of the School, Wei Yiming expressed his sincere welcome to Professor Li Wei's appointment at Beijing Institute of Technology, and gave a brief introduction to Professor Li Wei's international academic influence and achievements. He said that econometric methods and data analysis tools play a vital role in scientific research. I hope that with the guidance and help of Professor Li Wei, the School of Management and Economics will further develop scientific research and quality training in quantitative analysis.
