November 13, 2012, the School of Management and Economics hosted an academic Lunch at room 241 in the main building. Professor Hu Ruifa from Applied Economics Department gave a report entitled "the development of transgenic technology, the impact and related policies". Professor Yan Zhi-Jun hosted the luncheon. Dean Wei Yiming, Party secretary, Li Jinlin, Associate Dean Wang Zhaohua, as well as more than 50 teachers and students of the School of Management and Economics listened to the report.
Professor Hu Ruifa explained in details the development of transgenic technology and impact in China from five aspects: Transgenic technology and its controversies, the economic impact of transgenic technology, sustainable development of transgenic technology, public attitude and how transgenic technology development face international competition.
