April 22, 2013, jointly organized by the Beijing Institute of Technology Energy and Environmental Policy Research Center, and National University of Singapore Energy Research Centre, Energy Economy and Climate Policy Seminar was held in our school. Dean Professor Wei Yiming presided over the seminar. Secretary Professor Li Jinlin, Professor Chou Siaw Kiang, director of the Energy Research Center of the National University of Singapore, delivered welcoming remarks. More than 60 researchers from the two sides attended the seminar.
The morning session invited Professor Chou Siaw Kiang, Professor Dai Yande, deputy director of the National Energy Research Institute, and Professor Liu Keyu, former vice president of the China Petroleum Economic Research Institute to give keynote reports. Professor Chou Siaw Kiang made a presentation entitled “Overview of ASEAN's Energy Needs and Challenges”.
In the afternoon seminar, six young scholars from both sides shared the latest research results in the field of energy economy and climate policy, and had a lively discussion with the audience.
The Seminar was a complete success, provided an important opportunity to enhance mutual understanding and promote further cooperation in the future.
