November 8, 2013, in the afternoon, invited by of the School of Management and Economics , Dr. Zhang Fan from China Galaxy Securities Co. , Ltd. Gave a presentation entitled "XBRL application in fund research and financial product innovation" in the main building room 317. Teachers and the entire graduate students of the Accounting Department attended the lecture .
Dr. Zhang introduced XBRL development, the current difficulties, XBRL data applications outlook , XBRL data applications outlook in China, and important role of accounting in financial product innovation. Combined with his experience in the U.S., he also talked about how to effectively apply XBRL. In the Q&A session, Dr. Zhang answered in addition to XBRL , questions such as the difficulties encountered in study in the United States, and how to find a suitable job in the United States.

Zhang Fan , Ph.D. , is currently assistant general manager of China Galaxy Securities Funds Research Center Co., principally engaged in the fund industry research, sales situation tracking, the fund industry regulations interpretation and other aspects of research, also responsible for promotion of the research services to commercial banks . In 1996 to 2000 Southeast University ; in 2001-2005, University of Surrey in the United Kingdom FEPS (Faculty of Electronic and Physical Sciences) and FHMS (Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences), completed math and biomedical joint doctorate degree ; In 2006-2008, worked in the United States UTHSC (University of Tennessee Health Science Centre) and NIH / NBIRN (National Institute of Health) as a Senior Research Associate and Technical Director.
