January 19, 2014, the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research held a press conference to launch a series of reports on “Energy Economic Forecast and Outlook ", releasing four research reports including "China's mid-long-term energy demand forecasting and prospects", "2014 International crude oil prices analysis and trend forecast", "China’s regional energy poverty index ", and "National energy security analysis and outlook ". This series of reports has been completed on the basis of long-term in-depth studies by the research team led by Professor Wei Yiming. Since 2008, at the beginning of each year, the Energy and Environmental Policy Research Centre releases forecast and outlook reports on the hot issues in the field of energy economic, which has had a great impact.
