Experimental Class of International Economy and Trade Start Semester Abroad

The international experimental class of international economic and trade was initiated by the School of Management and Economics in 2008. The main purpose of the experimental class is to explore new education models and methods in the context of economic globalization; to use bilingual teaching and learning as an opportunity to promote education reforms and innovations,  promote implementation of the BIT international strategic initiatives and gain experience in education internationalization; to build a well structured staff team with international perspectives, high academic standards, and outstanding teaching abilities; to build a unique undergraduate program with international competitiveness.

 

    In two years, with support from the Office of Academic Affairs, International Cooperation Office and the School of Management and Economics and efforts of all teachers, the program initiated a series of reforms and innovations in the curriculum, textbook selection, training model and teaching methods in accordance with the BIT internationalization requirements. The program offers bilingual or English courses in management theory, microeconomics, accounting, macroeconomics, international economics, marketing, international marketing, applied statistics, strategic management, and human resources management, etc.

    In order to create an international classroom atmosphere, in the past two years, seven foreign experts from the United States, Germany, Britain and other countries were invited to give lectures and seminars,  and five professors from  the United States and Britain taught professional courses.

    In accordance with the program plan, all students will study abroad in the fifth semester, and obtain the corresponding school credits. Currently with the University of California Riverside, University of Bayreuth in Germany, Regensburg University, Paderborn University, and Coventry University of the UK, the program establishes a long-term partnership and signed a student exchange agreement. A total of 35 students from class 2008 have been placed and received study visa. Among them 21 will study in the U.S., 12 in Germany, and 2 in the UK.
