November 4, 2010, Beijing Institute of Technology Center for Energy and Environmental Policy (CEEP-BIT) Academic Committee held the first plenary meeting at conference room 317 of the Main Building.
CEEP-BIT was a research institution established under the School of Management and Economics in 2009. Its Academic Committee composed of 25 experts of domestic and international energy and environmental policy scholars, government departments and energy enterprises, including the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Energy Board, the State Council Development Research Center, National Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Industry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the State Grid Corporation, PetroChina, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Tsinghua University, China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, etc..
During the meeting, Professor Wei Yiming, Dean of the SME and Director of the CEEP-BIT delivered a report on the center "background to the establishment and ideas for development". The report highlighted the background to the establishment of the Centre, ongoing research as well as development vision.
Experts attending the meeting had a lively discussion on operating mechanism, partners, research features, and personnel training, brainstormed for future development, and made valuable and constructive suggestions. All participants had a group photo after the meeting.
