Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy (Germany) Visit

  April 22, 2011, in the afternoon, researchers Peter Viebahn, Daniel Vallentin, and Dr. Samuel Höller from the German Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy visited Beijing Institute of Technology Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research.

  Two parties introduced their research fields, the research team and the main research results, and had in-depth exchanges on issues related to the development status, obstacles and prospects of carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technology in China, India and South Africa, as well as China's energy and environment policies.
A brief of the Wuppertal Institute for Climate Environment and Energy:
  The Wuppertal Institute for Climate Environment and Energy (FRG), established in 1991, is Germany's environmental policy think tank, and a major research institution for global energy and environmental policy. Headquartered in North Rhine / Westphalia in Wuppertal (Wuppertal), Germany; main research areas: global, regional, district level strategies for sustainable development, focusing on ecological and economic and social interaction. The Institute's core research team include: future energy structure and mobility, energy, transport and climate policy, energy flow and resource management, sustainable production and consumption.
