Associate Professor Gu Yizheng, Taiwan Fu Jen Catholic University, Gives Report

  September 2, 2016, in the afternoon, Associate Professor Gu Yizheng from the Business Administration Department of Fu Jen Catholic University, Taiwan, was invited to visit our school and gave an academic report entitled "Determining the Continuous Knowledge Contributors Based on Review Behavior and Trust Network". The report was hosted by Professor Yan Zhijun. A number of teachers and students from the School attended the report.

  The report focused on Continuous Knowledge Contributors. The continuous knowledge contribution of community members in social media is mainly affected by five factors: the number of user reviews, the average score of receiving help comments, the average score of giving help comments, the ratio of negative evaluation and the total number, and the number of community members to be trusted. The study collected data from Epinions.com website to test the hypothesis, and finally found that the five factors have significant impact on the continuous knowledge contribution. The study results have theoritical and practical significance in the knowledge sharing research field.

Speaker Profile:
  Yi-Cheng Ku is an Associate Professor and Director of Bachelor's Program in Business Management at Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. in Information Management from National Sun Yat-sen University. In 2009-2010, he was a Fulbright visiting scholar at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology. His research interests include recommendation systems, information system adoption and diffusion, and service science. Yi-Cheng's research has been supported by MOST, Service Science Society of Taiwan, and other sponsors. His papers have appeared in Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Decision Support Systems (DSS), Information & Management (I&M), Computers in Human Behavior, International Journal of Business, International Journal of Medical Informatics, Journal of Electronic Commerce Research, and various conference proceedings. Yi-Cheng has been a track chair for numerous conferences including the PACIS 2016, the 2016 International Conference on HCI in Business, Government and Organizations, and the 2015 International Conference on HCI in Business.
