On the morning of October 16, 2016, Prof. Lian Daxiang of the University of Texas was invited to give a lecture entitled "Volatility spillovers among the U.S. and Asian stock markets: A comparison between the periods of Asian currency crisis and subprime credit crisis". Prof. Lian DaXiang, PhD in Economics, is currently a professor at the Business School of University of Texas at San Antonio, former assistant to the president, director of the Center for East Asian Studies, head of the US Liu Foundation Project, and distinguished chief business professor. Visiting professors or lecturers at the National University of Singapore. Nanyang Technological University, Tsinghua University, Victoria University of Canada, the University of Reading and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has published more than 270 papers in leading international journals of economics and finance including Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International Economics.
