Prof. Larry Karp, UC Berkeley, visits

Professor Karp presented a research competed recently in collaboration with Professor Rezai. Based on the author's assumptions and analytical framework, as currently the average age of the population in developed countries is higher than that in developing countries, and so is the per capita assets, thus the institutional arrangements in global carbon emissions require developed countries to appropriately compensate developing countries, not just for morality or justice reasons, but also because climate policy itself undermines the interests of developing countries. The paper provided some enlightenment for current climate negotiations.
