Introduction to the report:

The realization of net zero carbon emissions is widely considered to be a necessary condition for limiting global warming. However, some characteristics of greenhouse gas emissions, such as global public goods, historical responsibility, policy dilemma and many uncertainties, have brought many challenges to the long and difficult journey of carbon neutrality, such as insufficient commitment, hitchhiking and prisoner's dilemma. Since the clean transformation of the energy system is a necessary condition for achieving zero carbon emissions and limiting global warming, the process of energy transformation also faces many challenges. To promote a just and sustainable energy transformation, we need to deepen our understanding of the drivers, processes, impacts and other aspects of energy transformation, and strive to put forward constructive strategies. The reporter will share some superficial views on carbon neutrality and energy transformation, as well as some preliminary results of the ongoing research on energy transformation
