主講人介紹：
連大祥，加州理工學(xué)院經(jīng)濟學(xué)博士，美國德州大學(xué)圣安東尼奧分校商學(xué)院教授，前校長助理、東亞研究中心主任、美國劉氏基金項目負(fù)責(zé)人、劉尚儉杰出首席商學(xué)教授，在新加坡國立大學(xué)、南洋理工大學(xué)、清華大學(xué)、加拿大維多利亞大學(xué)、英國里丁大學(xué)及密蘇里大學(xué)堪薩斯城分校等擔(dān)任訪問教授或講座教授。在國際經(jīng)濟、金融類頂級期刊Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International Economics主要期刊上發(fā)表論文270余篇，根據(jù)澳洲SIRCA的統(tǒng)計資料，以2001-2005在19個主要的國際金融期刊發(fā)表文章的加權(quán)數(shù)計算，連大祥教授排名世界第一。連大祥教授現(xiàn)擔(dān)任國際主流金融學(xué)期刊International Review of Financial Analysis，Research in International Business and Finance，Emerging Markets Trade and Finance副主編，同時擔(dān)任International Review of Economics and Finance等10余本國際知名金融類期刊編委。
內(nèi)容介紹：
This talk is focused on the functions of futures markets, mainly hedging. We will go through the basic ideas and the development of econometric methodologies. The topic of hedging illustrates the Bona fide hedge, the academic definition (risk reduction), the expected utility versus risk reduction (mean-variance analysis), and the measurement of risk (variance versus downside risk).
