主講人簡(jiǎn)介:
Ranjan Karri is a associate Professor of Management, College of Business and Management,University of Illinois at Springfield. He got Ph.D.in Washington State University. He has published 14 refereed articles in reputed journals and 35 presentations and proceedings. Awards: Merit Award, Bryant University (2005); Merit Award, Bryant College (2002). Reviewer: International Family Enterprise Research Association (International) 2006‐2010. Courses Taught: Strategic Management /Entrepreneurship – VC Negotiations perspective/Entrepreneurship – Financing new ventures /Negotiations and Decision Making /Business Ethics / Technology and Innovation Management/Entrepreneurship – Content and Process, and so on. Currently his research interests lie in the intersection of strategic management, business ethics and entrepreneurship as well as family business. The broad question of what determines firm performance and the study of key elements of strategy (such as ethics, trust and governance) are a part of his research inquiry. In addition to firm level issues, he have a keen interest in how entrepreneurs develop opportunities as well as family business dynamics. Key drivers of his intellectual pursuits navigate a rather large area of academic inquiry very often with overlapping territories.

Not all family businesses are entrepreneurial. Family businesses do have some unique competencies. Family businesses are not uniform and they differ in their competencies. What differences attribute to enabling or hindering entrepreneurial action in family business? The seminar will discuss in detail the entrepreneurial resources in Families and how families differ in their capability to use their entrepreneurial capital
