Nils C. Newman研究員，美國Intelligent Information Services Corporation 公司總裁兼創(chuàng)始人，美國佐治亞理工學院TPAC中心客座研究員，研究方向主要涉及研發(fā)評估、競爭情報和戰(zhàn)略規(guī)劃領(lǐng)域的文獻和專利分析。Nils總裁長期致力于技術(shù)管理分析工具的開發(fā)，參與了情報分析工具TDA、 VantagePoint等軟件的開發(fā)和推廣應(yīng)用，曾先后為美國、歐洲和亞洲國家政府或私人企業(yè)提供技術(shù)競爭情報服務(wù)。
內(nèi)容簡介：
This session addresses the role patent data can play when analyzing science and technology issues. The goal of the session is to provide a basic understanding of patents and some practical guidelines on using patent-based measures for science and technology management. The session consists of five sections covering the data, potential indictors, messy details, data/data relationships, and examples. The first section begins with some of the basics of using patent data as a science and technology information source. The second section draws connections between intellectual property content and science and technology issues. The third section addresses some of the messy details of an actual analysis. The fourth section examines the relationship between patent data and other science and technology information sources. The final section provides analytic examples including walkthroughs covering the assessment of organizations and technologies. The examples will highlight some of the opportunities and challenges associated with patent analysis and its role in analyzing science and technology.
