內容簡介:
報告(1)This talk first clarifies the definition of e-waste and sustainability, discusses the challenges in e-waste recycling, and presents a framework that is helpful for understanding how e-waste recycling systems are designed and operated. Based on a general overview of various e-waste recycling practices, possible research areas for Operations Management professionals are identified and presented. The second part of the talk describes my research interests in this area, which examine ink cartridge and second-hand mobile and smart phone reverse supply chains. Specific research questions, modeling examples, and preliminary results are presented, and on-going research projects as well as future efforts are discussed.

報告(2)Supply chain management and entrepreneurship classes are usually taught separately in business classrooms, and yet the two subjects are inseparable and complementary to each other when it comes to launching new businesses. This talk first describes the course project I have designed in my global logistics class to enable both undergraduate and graduate students to experience how to design supply chain and logistics channels for bringing new products or technologies to potential global markets. Possible ways for integrating the core elements of supply chain management and entrepreneurship into one course are then discussed.
