內(nèi)容介紹:

The population ageing has been a big global problem. Population ageing affects human quality of life, especially in health care, e.g., rise in health care cost, ineffective and insufficient care. Thus, ageing populations pose a number of challenges to families, communities and societies. A key research issue is to provide more accurate, unobtrusive, low-cost and practical assisted technologies for the elderly, and to help them live independently at home as long as possible in the future.

The home-based assisted technologies for elderly people are emerging in these years, which aim to offer alternative solutions to help maintain or improve their quality of life by using associated technologies. Compared with the traditional or formal health care modes, the assisted technologies are more beneficial to enhance the elderly’s confidence to live independently, avoid the unnecessary intervenes given by caregivers or communities, and reduce the costs as well. This talk is about current research work and future prospects and innovation of ICT enabled health care from theory and practice perspective, especially concentrate on Human Activity Recognition systems and monitoring the elderly’s specific activities and their long-term behaviour pattern which enable to lead a healthy lifestyle and to stay alone in  a safety condition and for elderly people.
